Stereo System

I have been researching and considering putting in a stereo system for my wife's 64, but want to keep everything hidden and stock. Retrosound makes a cool 4" X 10" speaker for under the dash. It has L and R of tabs for stereo sound. Also, you can search for a Corvair in Crutchfield to get speakers that fit our cars, like the 4 X 10 and many popular brands make them. I also found a cool amp that I plan on getting and will take the bulk of the budget. It is a Bluetooth amp. What is cool about this amp is, it bypasses the head unit. That means, you don't have to fork out the extra money for a head unit and stream, Pandora, Amazon Music, MP3, etc. through the phone paired to the amp. It comes with a remote and you control volume from there. Retro sound also makes an 8" sub that handles 250 watt RMS. I would like to get the sub with enclosure (they do sell with sub), but don't know if the passenger seat has enough clearance. It needs about 5" clearance.

" I would like to get the sub with enclosure (they do sell with sub), but don't know if the passenger seat has enough clearance. It needs about 5" clearance."

While that sounds like a statement, are you actually asking about the clearance on the clearance?
Are you thinking of putting the sub under the seat?
It might fit, but what happens when some Lard-Butt sits down on your back seat?
I know in the past I have seen small sub enclosures designed to fit under the front seats.
Do not know if any of those would fit a Corvair or not, though.

I used these pods from custom autosound. No one even realises they are speakers. They create good seperation. I put two long throw 6.5s in the center consol for lows. Then I made a custom mount form my center channel and mounted two JBL 3.5s in there. Under the passenger seat is a 6 way 200 watt pioneer digital amplifier. My family and rock out with the top down. Here is a bad picture, but you can see some stuff.

I was actually asking, but I was thinking the front passenger seat. I will have to go measure tge space and possibky design aound those dimensions.

They sell cheaper ones. I have heard this one in action. It can supply some serious heft, to the music if you have the right speakers connected to it. All from your phone.

I love driving a manual, but I broke my back when I was younger, and it is a bit of a mess. I had to bend over a bit to drive the corvair in stock trim, it took the fun out of it. So I brought the shifter to me, i had a short throw kit on it, but it was too notchy.

Don't get me wrong, I love the length.
It just needs an authentic Ed Roth shift nob to finish it out.
Something like this maybe. . . . ????

I have a chrome skull. Need to make an insert for it. Right now my wife drives it too and she likes seeing the pattern on the shifter. The eyeball would be killer!
