Why does the blower look like it's spinning in the engine pic?

The blower fan is a 1960-61 style which lacks the fins towards the center.

$1500.00 is laughable for that mess.

I'm guessing they will likely have to pay someone to make it go away.

On a '61, (prob. other year(s) too), the bottom of the fan is smooth-no fins, so it looks like its moving. You have to look inside to see any fins.

One of those RARE 1961 convertibles they never made!
It must run, because the fan is still spinning!grinning smiley

Actually its a First Early fan with the fin blades on the outer edge of the fan. Would be interesting to see if the floor and undercarriage are desert preserved from rust!

May have been used to haul ore at the Calico Mine!tongue sticking out smiley

Brings up something I've been meaning to ask - are the '60 and '61 fans different? If so, pictures?

If that thing could be had for the 100$ it's worth, it would be a lark to weld the roof back on and get it running.

runs good? really? was the pic taken before it runs good? Man, that playa dust really sticks to the fan belt. Cool tho, as we have bought desert cars before and usually the pans and trunk are pretty good. Looks like how we scrapped some in the past, as you cut off the top to make it easy to load with water heaters !!

Not to far from me.
Maybe I could arrange to see the car. If nothing else they might be a contact for some great drugs!
