Corsa Communique Preview

The Corsa Communique is published on a monthly or bimonthly schedule, and this hyperlink will take you to a Preview of the Jan/Feb 2018 Issue. As the new CORSA Social Media Director, I am pleased to begin this new feature to let people know what they will find in the current issue of the Communique. The Corsa Communique has been published by the Corvair Society of America since 1978, and a complete collection of all back issues is available in pdf form. You will be hearing more from me in the future about CORSA, and I welcome your feedback.

Hi Steve, and fellow team members.
That's a great intro to the "new" Communique. Thanks for the Preview.

I was wondering whether you could maybe expound a bit on your plans for the Communique. Are there be any page number length or formatting changes planned? What will be your intended mix of topics? Do you have plans on how you might solicit member written articles? What is your intention on printing articles borrowed (i.e., copied) from other publications? And also reprinting articles previously printed in the Communique? Stuff like that.

Again, thanks for the Preview.

Hi Bob Helt,

Steve will be taking on CORSA's presence on social media, like here on the Corvair Center Forum, Facebook, and the CORSA website at www.corvair.org. He'll be keeping us up-to-date with the latest news about CORSA. Some of that may include ticklers about the latest issue of the Communique, like the one he posted here today.

Steve's role will be one of outreach, not only to existing CORSA members but hopefully to new ones as well. The idea of having a social media specialist came about long before I joined the CORSA Board, and I think it's a great idea.

The actual preparation and publication of the Communique will be in the hands of Don Keefe and his assistant, Anna Haines. In a few days, (Jan 1 2018), Don will be taking the reigns as CORSA Executive Editor.

I'll let Don speak for himself, but based on conversations with him, I expect you'll see some changes in the look and feel of the magazine - format stuff. The content, of course, will depend on what folks like you and me submit to him for publication! March 2018 will be their first issue of the Communique and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

By the way, I enjoyed your tech article about headlight wiring that appears in the January / February issue of the Communique. As a CORSA member, I was able to log in to the CORSA website and read it online this morning.

Thanks for the run-down, Al.

It sounds like a lot of thinking and planning have gone into this change. If I have counted right, it looks like we now have 5 people handling CORSA's affairs replacing two. I just hope that we can afford it..

Bob,
Please understand that it's three positions, not five, and my Social Media position is the only new one. And I certainly hope to justify Corsa's investment smiling smiley

I just want to throw out a huge thank you to everyone who plays any part in running the organization. And I look forward to opening my mailbox every month and finding the magazine. I picked up a huge stack of old mags at our local chapter summer gathering and even enjoy reading those. Just know that your sacrifice of time and energy gives many something to look forward to along with a lot of useful information.
