After 4 years!

Well after 4 years of making small excursions down to my family's place, I am finally going to bring my 68' back up to where I live. I got a lot done over the years but really want to see this thing back on the road and feel I just wont ever get it going if it continues to be a hour away from me.

I set out 4 years ago when I parked it to convert from a PG to a manual car and boy was it an experience! My biggest take home from this project is I am not scared to work on anything anymore. I pretty much got a taste of everything and once it's running I can go back and understand how my car works.

I am very lucky to be surrounded by great Corvair people who are willing to help me with this. Jan 12th is the voyage from Greenwood SC to Greer SC via a trailer and a great guy who is willing to haul it. There we will park it inside another club member's shop who is hosting a tech session the 27th for the club with my car as the focal point. I couldn't of gotten this far without them and everyone online, its just been a great learning experience and hope to continue to learn.

It needs some body work but that mostly being dents. Once I get it running I’ll plan on jumping on the body work. Can’t wait.

Good progress Cole. There has to be a dedication to make the car whole again. Many here exhibit that, I am in awe when I see pics of a car project moving along there is a lot of talent among CCF subscribers Great way to start 2018

best wishes, Steve

My biggest motivation is the club here they always push me to keep at it. I took on a big project I had no business taking on. just to put in perspective I had no idea earlier cars had clutch cables rather than a hydraulic system! They got a good laugh at me. So many components go into shifting a manual transmission. Another big reason to get this going is I am the 2018 club present and I need my Corvair to represent the club with!

Got married this past November and of course had to drive off in my friends 68.

Good to hear Cole, I'm excited for you, hope to see it soon. Maybe we'll see it at Springfest? Congratulations on the marriage, looks like you did a great job there as well.
