Hey! That's on my birthday. Is the 25% income tax based on the original $2,591 price?

Just reread it. It's "actual" car value. And what is that?

Let's see now....

If the 25% tax is based on the "Actual Purchase Price" that would be the $5.00 paid for the one raffle ticket that was selected as the winner.

That would mean the 25% tax should be $1.25 right?eye rolling smiley

On the other side of the coin, there is the "Actual Car Value" which in some folks minds could be somewhere between "Nothing and Priceless" depending on their perspective.

After reading all the "Fine Print", I won't be purchasing any raffle tickets.

I have no problem with following the rules of the IRS, but I wish the "Actual car value" was listed in the rules so one would know what their financial obligation upon winning the car will be. This is usual in these situations.

Also, rule 14, in part: "The winning raffle ticket holder must have purchased at least one raffle ticket in full prior to the drawing, in 2018". Does this mean all the tickets purchased in 2017 could be a winner only if a ticket is purchased in the winner's name in 2018? And what do you mean "In Full"? three people buy one ticket that gets pulled as the winner, but only the person who also bought a ticket in their name only gets the car, even though that ticket is not pulled?confused smiley

I understand the need for fine print, but it should make sense to the average purchaser of a ticket!

Either way, I will not buy a ticket because it is FROST GREEN! I already turned down buying 5997 twice due to color...eye popping smiley

'cmon, Frank, we have to get all the newly minted lawyers employed somehow!!

I suggest you buy a Raffle Ticket and then when you win, you can bring up your soapbox, and a lighter and make a public protest against the Lime Green Parts Car*!! smoking smiley

You'll never know the odds until the last Raffle Ticket is sold!

Our club Corvairs Northwest, had a 50/50 raffle (without lawyers, BTw) at our Annual Christmas Party a couple weeks ago.
I was selling the tickets, and I was telling folks:
"Say 100 tickets are sold at $1 each - the winner will get $50 for their ticket"

At the end of the day, our winner took home $84.!! Merry Christmas to them!!
The other $84 went to support the club's expenses for putting on the event, which was FREE for all of our members!

These are the license filed with the county of Butler, Pennsylvania Treasurers office. As you can see the Value is $6000. Taxes are of IRS concern and have nothing to do with WPCC.If proceeds permit we will be paying for the taxes, as a good will item. The permit is good for one year, so yes your 2017 tickets are good. We are doing this not to pad anyone's pockets. Some of the proceeds are to alleviate some of the costs associated with the extras we are doing at this years convention, for your enjoyment.
Thank you
Jim Weppelman
WPCC Secretary, 2018 CORSA convention local chairman.

Thank you, Jim. ACV of $6000 answers what financial obligation a winner will have. This withholding is normal for most games of chance/game shows etc., and should not be a reason to not purchase a ticket.

Yes, this is a great cause, it is our (CORSA) convention. Anyone who has put on a national convention for any car club knows the costs are high.

Because of this, I am putting my dislike of Frost Green on hold and have already purchased a raffle ticket! smileys with beer
