1965 Corsa Fuses
Posted by: Sir Thomas ()

Hi gang, I have what I hope is a simple question. What size fuses need to be installed in each slot in a 1965 Corsa fuse box? A picture of mine is attached and I know a couple are missing. I'd like to replace all with new but I got a little confused by the 1965 Corvair Chassis Shop Manual, Specifications page 10 where it referenced the six fuses since my first fuse slot only has an upper connector. Is my first fuse slot broken in missing the lower connector?

As writtem pn the fuse block. Cant read the first one on top but being that it powers the wiper motor its prbobly 15a. Then a 5
Then 3.5 (or 7.5 if stereo)
Then 10's all the way down.
The last one is for an acessory the car dose not have installed. Could be A/C, rear window defpg.

Look at owners manual for fuse rattings.

Checking out my 1965 Manual and Bob Helt's Classic Corvair book I "think" this is the fuse layout, from Left to Right:

1 = No Fuse (No Lower Clip)
2 = 3AG/10 Amp (Tail/Stop/Dome/Glove Box)
3 = 3AG/10 Amp (Heater/Backup Lights) OR 3AG/20 Amp with A/C Option
4 = 3AG/3 Amp (Radio) OR 3AG/7.5 Amp with Stereo Radio Option
5 = 3AG/3 Amp (Instrument Lights)
6 = 3AG/20 Amp (Wiper)

The "old" size rating is 3AG, the "new" size rating is AGC.

You might want to consider getting a new Fuse Block from Craig Nicol (www.racersrods.com).

I hope this helps!

Merry Christmas!!!
