Top Down Day yesterday!
Posted by: rnch ()
Date: December 22, 2017 06:34AM

Yesterday was a warm-ish (mid 70's) and partly cloudy day yesterday here in New Orleans, LA, USA; perfect for enjoying the charms of Skyler, the DropTopAirVair.

As I was taking one of the pictures in my local grocery store's parking lot (parked wayyyyyyyy out in BFE for obvious reasons); a gentleman, somewhere between 70 and death, watched me walking around the car, snapping pics with my cell phone. As he climbed into his Benz, he said: "A car well worth taking many pictures of!"

I almost dropped the top on my way home from work yesterday. It might snow here later today/tonight. Good ol' OK weather.

There was one tiny, hairline crack, about 1/8 of an inch long, facing the windshield, that cannot be seen unless you search for it; I deftly and sneakily filled it in with 5 minute epoxy glue.

I used pink dish washing detergent & warm water, with a soft bristle nylon scrub brush on the seats and door panels.....then mineral spirits....then some Westley's Beache-White whitewall tire cleaner, then some Turtle Wax upholstery cleaner. All clean and soft now! I'm satisfied with the results....for now. Clean white seats in a convertible is a temporary, transitory thing!

Just wondering, is that the stock interior? I have the same pattern seats and I always figured it was an aftermarket seat cover.

Interior is custom. It was done by one of the local Albuquerque legends Ed Paleo before he retired. I believe this was his last interior.
