I’m quite sure that’s a scam. No contact info other than in the picture and it’s also posted in at least one other area (Indianapolis). Just doesn’t seem right...

It's simply a bunch of CL ads that announce that the car is up for auction at pawnauctions.org and current bid is at $14,500.

3 bids and has not met reserve yet.

Not only did the buyer over pay for the car, it is butt ugly.

You mean "Dog butt ugly".

I bought a 66 Corsa Turbo about 3 years ago from just outside Salt Lake City and it was painted just like this one. I had to do a double take when I saw this one. When I saw the flip-lid Cobra style gas filler, I realized it was a little different. I'm stripping this car down to bare metal to complete a nut and bolt restoration. The front fascia was also painted black and the engine was powder coated red with orange plug wires. It might have made a big hit in Mexico, add a little dog with a wagging head in the back window and a cuckarachoo horn.

You can't fix stupid and you can't buy good taste

You know,. . . . .
I thought that the first time I saw this car.
But after viewing it a few times, I have come to realize just what look they were trying to achieve with the GOODYEAR EAGLES, and the Big Ole Gas Filler Door thing.
You see, they just didn't carry the theme all the way through enough for most people to appreciate. eye rolling smiley
It is still waiting for the installation of the finishing touches. . . . .

This was a father/son project. The son bought it for $2500 and fixed it up the way he wanted. I'll bet whatever we think about the fuel door and the white lettered tires probably isn't causing them any concern since they sold it for $23,000.

Thanks for the info, Dave.
Knowing that this was a collaboration between a father and his son changes EVERYTHING!
Anytime a Father and Son can get together, work on ANY project together, it IS a BEAUTIFUL thing, no matter what it is.
The day will come (if it has not already) when most of us would give everything we own to have just one more day to spend with our Dad.

It is a Beautiful car! thumbs up

...It still looks NASCAR-ish.
I can only imagine the next morning...

Waking up with a massive hangover, checking your eBay app and realizing what you just did.
Been there. Got the T-shirt.

That scam advisor site is questionable. I put in a domain that just points to a firewall's status page and I know has a fake address. It gives it a 100% safe rating even though it says there is a 26% chance it's in Sweden when it is actually in the US.

I bought my '64 convertible from a guy that told me he and his wife were drunk when they bought it on eBay. I bought it for half what he supposedly paid for it. He knew nothing about Corvairs.
