Tim Allen's mention of a "special" Engine

Sorry if this has already been posted...couldn't find it.

In the current Motor Trend, Tim Allen is interviewed and as usual has lots of nice things to say about Corvairs. He mentions a special engine for which he had at one time some parts. It was a low production GM prototype.

Anyone familiar with this?
