My Shorty is heading west.... Sunny San Diego

Decided to sell my 64 Shorty Convertible, guess I couldn't justify having 3 corvairs.
I had a lot of fun with this one but it was time to list this convertible on eBay. The new owner never owned a corvair but he said he just had to have it, hitting the "buy it now" button he now owns this 140hp corvair. Steve (new owner" lives in San Diego California.
I told him about "corvair center" and told him to join the local San Diego corvair club.

Hey Matt, I bought this corvair about 2 years ago, had some fun with it. I like sharing with the members of corvaircenter when something is happening in my corvair world but to be honest when I bought this one I thought it was kinda ugly. The shorty grew on me because it was a lot of fun to drive. Times are changing in my life and it was now the time to pass it on. Cool "little" car, pun intended

A fellow in one of the L.A. clubs bought the coupe "Shorty" from someone in Michigan (If I recall correctly). The L.A. guy lost his storage and I think it was sold to someone in the San Diego area.

Is San Diego the "Shorty" capital?

No door handles, eh? Then you might be just the guy to tutor me in how to make a really impressive 'leap' into my '63 Spyder convertible without opening the doors...I've seen it done in plenty of movies, I think one hand would grab the top of the windshield and the other one the top of the door...a spinning motion? Approach from the back and make a run for it? (I'm 63 and I don't want to hurt myself..)

Whad'ya think, guys?

I like it better as a blue car... Can you imagine the Blues Brothers trying to get into that car? It should have doors to be practical.

The blue color is when it was known as Taz! As in Tasmanian devil because it was a devil to drive, according to the owner at the time, when it was running correctly. I did a fair amount of work on the engine LONG before Dan got it, I don't think I ever got it to wheelie but it did go like stink! It would also just about turn around on a 2 lane black top road and just barely catch the gravel.
