Would like advice on exterior color repaint. (New Corvette Kalahari)

I would like help deciding on what to do if I want to repaint my LM coupe. Here is what I am thinking…

It’s a daily driver and I like modern little touches to make it fit reliable for today’s driving habits.

I would like repaint the car with modern paint colors. After repaint, just in case, I want to be able to run to local auto parts store for a quick touch up paint can.

Interior will be stock pattern but modern colors (saddle) like 2018 Corvette Kalahari:

Should I stick with Chevrolet colors only? Or GM?

Or how do you feel about going import colors? Like Lexus, BMW, maybe even Ferrari? Would these import colors be more expensive? Would these import touch up cans be less available than domestic colors? I can imagine at a car show, one might ask what color is it and I would say it’s 2017 Toyota Prius baby blue. And the reaction will be awful like oh ok. Haha

Which exterior colors would go well with saddle or Kalahari?

What I like:
Silver
Blue
Silver blue
Bronze
Brown
Champaign

What I don’t like:
Red
Yellow
Green
Orange
Purple
Black

rot...

In Corvairs / CORSA Concours it doesn't matter..

Do what YOU want to your car! Quality of workmanship and the overall car is what matters...

For my '67... I chose 1963 Corvette Sierra Tan Poly...because I love that color!

When it comes to mixing it up, that is completely up to you!
You have been around here long enough to know that!smiling smiley
While there is no not many words to politely use for most Prius owners, there is nothing wrong with the colors they are painted!
One thing about those of us here on CC, we are divided into 2 main groups, "Keep'em stock" and "Do whatcha gotta do!"
BUT, there is one thing that we ALL agree on.

HAVE FUN DOING IT ! ! !

or git off the forum and leave us alone.

As for touch-up, just ask your painter to make you up a small amount of touch-up paint while he is mixing it up for the full on body paint job.thumbs up

Agree best touch-up is paint saved from the mix the vehicle was painted with. It will keep a very long time (quite a number of years) in a sealed container sized for the amount of paint saved (fuller container is better).

The guy that painted my 68 corvette, who owned a 48 bay body shop on Long Island, and had a 60 bay body shop pre coming to the 48 bay one, taught me a little trick about saving paint from painting your car....and it does not have to be full, I haVe maybe an inch or two in a qt can and it has never gotten hard.

You just take good masking tape, I use the green 3/4 inch size, and go around the top of the can lid and cover the opening....thats it. I have had paint for years now done that way and they are as fresh as new...and you have all the paint companys tech data for getting more right there.

Midnight blue or burgundy with that interior would be pretty sweet.
