Anyone want to autocross this year in Pigeon Forge?
Posted by: moomba32 ()

I saw where autocross boys are doing 3 separate 2 day events this year. I know someone that went last year and said you can get as many runs as you can stand, something like 20-30 a day.

Small course or small number of cars? June is a good chance our 66 can be there with at least one driver. Power Tour is coming through our area June 10-17 try and miss those dates, I'm wanting to catch the tail end coming through GA, SC, & NC. I have a new water pumper buddy I can probably get to join in if you want.

The Anderson track you went to before. I’m hoping to have more cars than the last time. I just mean it’s no official autocross just our local club having a good time.

I'm interested in both the Pigeon Forge and Anderson events! Holing to get to as many events as I can this year. Got spoiled running the Clemson events this fall. Nice laid back group, not the craziness that SCCA Atlanta is.

Richard, the car doesn't need to be setup for autocross to have fun!

Agree, I've never had a bad autocross experience, all fun.

Will they let you run a Corvair? Seems like they are muscle car heads. They will laugh at the Corvair until it kicks all their asses. After that they will find a way to only let it run in classes it is not competitive in. Like the SCCA has done. If we can run consider me in!

The Clemson Sports Car Club does a monthly autoX during the school year. I attended the Aug (Miata) and Sept (Corvair) events and had a blast, but didn't make the Oct/Nov events. The Spring schedule hasn't been announced yet.

They run a simplified classing system. RWD, FWD, and Miata, with stock and modified for each. I ran mid pack overall in the Corvair. Here's a photo of the Vair sitting in grid.

Great I need to find out about this I’ll look into it. I’m president for the upstate corvair club and think we may could make this a event to attend.

Clemson is on Facebook, search 'Clemson Sports Car Club'
Looking back at last year they did 8 autocrosses, January, February, March, April then August, September, October and November.

HAHA didn’t mean to steal the thread but thank you I’ll look at it and definitely try to get the club involved here.

Same! Hell I get tempted when I see construction cones cool smiley.

The Pigeon Forge events appear to be a bit pricey. That + hotel might make it a little less accessible for me this year. Perhaps I can camp.

The Clemson events are $35, or $20 per if you join the club. First time is $20 as well. Loaner helmets available.
