WTB - Plastic Window Trim strips for LM rear window
Posted by: SkidRo ()

I just realized after 2+ years of ownership that my '66 does not have the side and bottom trim pieces for the rear window. Clark's has straight pieces that bend and snap in place, however, I would prefer the original style that are molded to the correct shape. My interior is black.

I am in Maryland just outside of DC.

Thanks,
Rory

Good luck - unless someone saved some from the 70's.

Though, black did deteriorate the least from the sun, but by now...

Clark's should work fine. Put them in the sun - or possibly use a heat gun to make them a little more flexible.

Maybe that's why mine are no longer on the car. Thanks for the tip on the Clark's trim. If no one has a set I'll go the Clark's route.

After some feeble "thinking"; a hair dryer would probably work better than a heat gun...

I always forget about the Ranch although it's fairly close to me. Thanks

The original window trim molding strips were straight pieces that formed to the curve of the rear window opening with installation. They should be fairly easy to find in the northeast, especially in black. The Ranch should have them available.

Not true based on the pieces I bought from GM in the 70's.

Though black was the only color available at the time I purchased them IIRC.

If you look in a parts book, I think you will find tow different part numbers (L / R).

Looked up part numbers Grp 14.650

4495534 R.H.
4495535 L. H.

Robert, thanks for the info... a friend has a NOS molding and it is straight. My answer was based on that info.
