Engine lid latch receiving unit color
Posted by: Yelocar ()

I am repainting the underside of my 64 Monza engine lid and want to know if the latch receiving unit was originally the body color or just clean metal? Mine is currently the body color, but I know the car has been repainted once. I want to try to take it back to original. Thanks,

The receiver that mounts to the engine lid is body color. The latch mechanism that fastens onto the rear panel of the car is natural metal or silver color, cadmium plated, or whatever you call it.

I concur with black spyder.. That is the way that it is on my black Spyder when I restored it back in 1992..
