Hi

Can you install 64 Turbo heads on 62/63 Turbo engine.Is there a difference between the 63 and Turbo heads?

62-64, the 65-66 have a larger bore for the jugs IIRC.

Why would you want to? The smarter move is to install 62-63 turbo heads on a 64-66 engine. The lack of a sqush area on the later turbo heads provides lovely spark knock on modern fuels.

Yes there is a difference in combustion chamber design. Will they bolt on and fit? Yes. The compression will be lower, maybe to low for any performance.

Yes but C/R will be lowered. This is discussed in How to Hot Rod Corvair Engines. I think it goes down to 7.2:1 or so. Maybe 7.0 to 1 as the original compression was not a true 8.0:1. As Ken said, lower performance. Otherwise, its a direct bolt on as the cylinder head gaskets are the same and cylinder barrel diameters are the same. PM sent.

I have a 64 set here that may be for sale. They only have about 200 miles on them since total rebuild by me. You will have to contact the party they belong to though if interested.
