() Date: November 25, 2017 02:38PM Hello guys, Haven`t visited Corvair center by a long time but, want to share one of the weirdest problems I've had dealing with Corvairs. Yesterday, while driving "El Andariego" (67 Corsa clone) noticed some lack of power and rough idling associated with ignition. Suspected from a plug so, this afternoon did the checking to isolate the bad plug (# 3), took it off and looked fine but, using a new one tested for spark, before installing... no spark, oh!!, maybe the wire. Retest with a good wire... still no spark, changed cap & rotor. Resuming...good plug, good wire, good cap & rotor and no spark. Rotated and checked the 6 small magnets on the donut (Pertronix) and...nada !! Tomorrow morning will change for a full spare distributor and see what happen. PS. Discarded coil failing as it is providing good spark to the other 5 cylinders. Cheers !! Daniel Monasterio 64 Customized Greenbrier (The Bluebrier) 67 Customized Cpe. () Date: November 25, 2017 05:41PM Find the magnets and put them back in the holder, I did once and it worked just fine. I also put the retainer ring on better than the factory did. Ken Hand Handy Car Care 248 613 8586 Vairmech@aol.com Re: Weird ignition problem Posted by:

() Date: November 26, 2017 01:22AM Did you test the new plug on a different cylinder's wire? Unlikely, but it could be a bad plug out of the box. ![]() Danny Robertson Huntsville, Al '64 Spyder (Daily Driver) '63 Rampside (Rotisseried and in Progress!) Re: Weird ignition problem Posted by:
