Almost had me going here angry smiley

I looked at this car and drooled, until I saw it looks as if the Turbo engine was swapped for a 140. Turbo badge on the rear deck lid and single, large exhaust. Then they show the engine and what a disappointment. How can it win a show ribbon with the wrong engine?

Bob..... CORSA Concours is not about "Correctness" unless you enter a "Factory Stock" class.

The most modified car can score highest IF it is closer to "Perfect" in execution...

Everyone entered starts with 100 points..... then the deductions begin...

A/C vents on both sides of dash and no A/C, missing chrome lower grill and clearly not a turbo.

It looks like a really well done car but for me I would not even consider it due to all the none correct items. I like them as they where built.

It looks nice, don't remember seeing it but probably have. It's in CORSA SC area, Coleslaw probably knows about it.

I prefer the 66 interior over the 65 style. This car looks pretty nice either way.

I like the idea of a custom all into one 140 exhaust through the body opening although they missed a little low in the strike zone.

I thought turbos didn't come with A/C?
how would it have A/C vents in dash and a turbo exhaust outlet?

It's not a A/C car, no center vent. You're right about turbos not having A/C, which means the cluster and glove box surround either came from a '66 A/C 140 Corsa or were modified for A/C.

Yup. Bob Brought, super nice guy and all his cars are super nice. He doesn’t Worry with factory stock though and mostly pushes for comfort and parts availability. Him and his wife have owned nothing but corvairs (except for a 99’ Silverado to tow their Corvairs with) so they look at them as more than just a collectible car.

Nice car! When I had my Evening Orchid Corsa turbo, I first ran it with the Binion EFI 140.

Like this car, I custom made a "Super Single" exhaust system that employed one large muffler and a turbo tailpipe exiting through the turbo exhaust cutout. I was pretty proud of that.cool smiley

I'm certainly not one to be concerned with whether a Corvair is "correct" or not. There are those who are and I salute them.
I enjoyed the "Stock Is" series of articles in the Communiques many years ago.
All into one free flowing exhaust on a 6 cylinder is very cool in my opinion.

I saw this car a little over 4 years ago at the 2013 Springfest show in Helen, GA. It was a very nice car then.
