Re: EZ Car Lift On Sale

If you need a high lift, this is not for you. For most Corvair owners, this works fine. On a hard level driveway surface this is safe and secure. Best, for me, is the mobility. I can roll it around, or break it down in 5 minutes and store it out of the way or haul it to a friends house. If you need a quick lift in a pit stop, look elsewhere. I will add that I bought this and vowed never to get under a car on jack stands again. This was because of the death of a friend, where weight shifted off the rear jackstands - while removing a Corvair powertrain - and the car came down and killed him. I suppose, if I lived somewhere else and I could have a multi-car or RV garage where I could install a two or four post lift I would do that. But the EZ-Car Lift passes the spouse approval test for our rear driveway, and is portable enough to move out of the way.

Seth, with all due respect,I was only deferring to the videos of almost non-movement while they spun their drills.

It is slow, but the "acme" gear design offers power up and power down, adding to the security of the unit. The unit cannot come down without powering down with the drill. In the computer world, that is a feature, not a bug! I did buy a new HD drill to use with mine. I bought a big Milwaukee and it has no problem running that sucker up and down. If it is too slow, you have to look elsewhere.

What Seth said plus, in the low rise category, I have not seen any lifts that provide the amount of open access as the EZ-lift. I can roll from front to back unubstructed and put my hands on any part of the underside of the car without changing the lift position.

I thought for a long time that I wanted a four post lift until I stood under one and realized how much access is limited by the lift rails. The EZ might not be for everyone but it fits my needs perfectly.

I’d like to see one that you can at least roll around under on a shop chair.
At least 50”.

Ay Thomas my friendsmileys with beer Just wanted to say...

I had a 2-post commercial Rotary lift for 12 years. It was great! Unfortunately the building I had it in was changed into a house! Oh Crap!eye popping smiley
I have no room or place for a 2-post lift at my house, so had to sell the lift.angry smiley

My home 2+ car garage has a standard height overhead clearance and my knees and back remind me of my age. So a home lift was needed. I looked at most all mid height lifts that are available and went with the EZ Lift. No overhead clearance for something I could walk under!

Without going into a long winded explanation of why I have no buyers remorse and really like my EZ. I'll just say that for 7+ years now, the EZ has been one of the best tools in my garage for my car hobby.

So I guess it's just what one needs and can use at their location that makes the best choice.

Sorry tp, Just word correct that failed. again You come back with your typical "DISRESPECTFUL" bull crap based on your upbringing which is showing was very low grade.

My apologies to other members who read this but tp is not going to get away rolling all over me.

Sorry, tp. Not concerned that you did not ship me a bent up FC jack. I got a working one for some cash. Your berating attitude to numerous members of this forum is just to much. You have made more bad relationships on this forum in 2 years than most do in in a lifetime. Figure out why that happens and you might get ahead of the game. Nah that will never happen. Also leave your politics in your home and out of our forum like the rules state.

I'm fortunate enough to have a 4 post lift, yes it gets in the way for some work but my main use is storage, one over the other, then light maintenance, oil changes and such. I see the appeal of the EZ-Lift, looks like a good tool.

Al some people you should just ignore, makes life better, it's best to just feel sorry for them and not encourage.

Will, that would be nice but garage ceiling height for some of us is 8'. Subtract the drop for the garage door and opener and now you have 7'. Height of my vair from rocker to top is approximately 46" and that added to the EZ Lift max lifting height of 26" is 72" leaving 12" of clearance.

I've had my car on the lift for a month now rebuilding the front suspension and even though it has been cold and wet outside, I have been quite comfy, on my back in my nice warm garage. smoking smiley

Don, If I had the clearance, I would definitely enjoy the advantages of that 4 post lift.

We have to make the best of the space we havethumbs up
I'm lucky enough to have 9' from floor to opener. so i could make a higher lift work.
it takes more time for me to jack it up and put stands under the car. With the EZ lift, i'd still be laid out on a crawler.

If I ever manage to get a place with a bigger garage, I will definitely be looking for a lift I can walk under.

I’m just a guy who likes Corvair’s but Pedigo seems like a real unhappy person who probably is miserable to be around— just my opinion—-
