I think the appeal of the tele column is more the look and not so much the telescopic function. It is for me anyways. I never use the tele function. It's all the way forward all the time. I have long arms. Luckily my car came with one and they do look much nicer than any other corvair column imo. Would I buy one if my car had come with a different column? No way! Too much money

Yeah I wonder how many people are going to be willing cut, weld and modify a column they just paid $900 for eye rolling smiley

As I mentioned earlier, If you like the looks of the tele wheel - even the actual 2-spoke wheel (whether cracked or Pre-cracked), you can add that and even add a tilt function for a lot less money - and no welding or cutting on $900 parts! And it will look like factory! For scaring Passengers, nothing beats the quick-disconnect removal. Get ready to go, pull the wheel and hand it to the passenger, sayin, "Here, you drive!" (not recommended if you are actually moving. I have done that, it is terrifying -at least for the driver.)

Funny Tim - I bought the one column Pat had last year. It got restored and installed in the '65 I just sold to rnch.

Latest sales on these telecolumns gives me a general idea of what my 66 Corsa value should be.just need to get it running for more value.
