() Date: April 20, 2020 09:48AM This was the car coming home from Kyle's shop in early January of this year. At this point it had no powertrain, working brakes, or steering wheel. We slowly winched it out of the trailer and into the garage. However, the car was now facing the wrong way for powertrain installation, so I had to put the car on my lift and then spin it 180 degrees - THAT was very scary!! () Date: April 20, 2020 09:56AM Before I could install the powertrain I had to install the rear AC hoses - that was NOT fun - these are thick-walled hoses that have to make some sharp bends. The second photo is a "before and after" Last photo shows how the compressor wire is secured to the hose Bill Hubbell, President, Stock Corvair Group Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Glenn Corvair Restoration Posted by:

() Date: April 20, 2020 10:00AM Hoses entering the engine compartment. It took some fiddling to get the placement of the AC hoses and the heater hoses correct. The Assembly manual instructions give an incorrect placement for the hoses with respect to the heater hose. And yes, before somebody says something, I know that the boot on the axle dipstick is place incorrectly in these photos - I fixed it later. () Date: April 20, 2020 10:10AM Under car detail - took a long time to hook everything back up again. Second photo shows the relationship of heater hose to AC hoses - the heater hose is FORWARD to (in front of) the AC hoses - it HAS to be this way for everything to fit, but the Assembly manual states the AC hoses should be FORWARD to the heater hose - WRONG!!!!
