CORSA Clone? OH, so he installed a Corsa dash.eye rolling smiley
6213 miles driven since "bumper to bumper restoration" in '95.
I don't know, seems kinda like they must have been hard miles.
Exchange rate comes out to about $9000.oo
Anyway, there it is.

Is that carpet on the floor, or model 500 rubber mat?

For $12,000CAN, could you at least clean the floor?

If it had a bumper to bumper restoration in 1995 it must have been parked outside since. Looks like original carpet and the bumpers look to be rusty. Rust staining in trunk and rusty spot on left front fender. No pictures of underside or top. I would consider buying it at half the price if the underside reflected a garage kept car restored in 1995 with only 10,000 miles on it, and if the paint could be saved and small areas with missing paint could be blown in to match, otherwise I would consider it a repaint.

For comparison, I just recently sold my rust free car I bought in Joshua tree in 1999. It was a '65 monza coupe, 140/4spd, heads and cylinders by Ray Sedman, all new suspension with Grade 8 hardware, rebuilt steering box, wood wheel, rebuilt 3.27 diff and 4 spd tranny, 5 new maxxis tires, excellent '66 bucket seat interior and lots of NOS parts and rechromed bumpers went with the car. I got $5000 CDN. The car needed to be stripped and repainted as the second coat of paint was peeling, which was the major detractor of price, even though body work required was minimal given the condition of the body.

I wish him luck at this time of year, particularly given his location.

10,000 hard km indeed. That's a serious dreamer there.

And of course it's a "Corsa clone". He changed the glove box door also.

I kind of like the seats, if not for the color. Lamborghini also made a similar pattern, with the rolls across the seat. I leather of course. Other than that, too much for what can be seen.

For those unaware, 10,000 Km is just a tick over 6,200 miles.
As for being a "Corsa Clone", I wonder if he did the exterior emblems also?
There is no silver cove.

Bob, I actually like the seats. I just hate the color.

I think it's realistic for a restoration that's almost 25 years old. My 66 was restored in 92, scored 88 in concourse then. It was stored inside always by the restorer and myself, I've had it 12 years now. I'm constantly chasing the rust off the bumpers and wheels, had some rust show up in the trunk that needed attention and I see a little on the floor from underneath, the upholstery is having some threads giving up, I've done a little to it over the years. I'd expect if mine hadn't been getting some attention over the years even being inside all the time it would look comparable. But I agree his price seems a little strong but it's a convertible. I'm kind of neutral on the seats, I wouldn't have used them but don't hate them either.

Don, I bet your carpet held up better than his. I put new carpet in my '65 in 1999 and always kept it in a garage and even after a trip to Ventura from Vancouver and some local shows, totaling about 3000 miles the carpet still looked new a couple months ago when I sold the car. I assume the original carpet was not replaced when it was restored. You would think they would have put a new deck lid emblem on too, but that is gone. I wish him luck though.

I would have to agree, IF the car had been used!
But 6000 miles in 25 years does not really qualify as being used in my book.
That is LESS than 250 miles per year!

I haven't kept up with miles but I'm sure it's got more than 6000 in 25 years, probably has 1000 just autocross miles. Frank used it for autocross then after I bought it we both used it for autocross until Frank's health made him stop.

Heh, Don I was not talking about your '66.
The seller in Canada, claims that this car has only driven 10,000Km (6200Miles) since its "bumper to bumper restoration" in 1995.
The condition of the car does not reflect a careful restoration nor a garage kept car.
The paint seems rather faded to me for a car that has only seen an average of 240 miles per year.
The ad also states that the car needs a new top.
I am betting that it was driven quite regularly for the first 2 years, and then has sat since then.

It has been a few years since I last bought a Corvair, but $9000 seems a might bit steep for this car.
