LM VIN question. Sequential by plant or sequential by all locations?

Here's probably an easy question for the decoding experts. I think I read about it here long ago but can't find it now.

Is it correct that the last 6 digits in a LM Corvair VIN would be duplicated between assembly plants?

In other words for example, you could find both xxxxxxL114293 and xxxxxxW114293?

Do I have that right?

To ask it another way, for this fictitious 1965 500 4-door VIN # 101395L114293, would that indicate the 14,293rd Corvair built that year at any plant or just the 14,293rd built in LA?

Thanks!

Sequential by plant...

Yes you could have both xxxxxxL114293 and xxxxxxW114293?

Thanks Rick. I figured they could not have been that organized in the mid-60's to pull off coordinating serial numbers or reserving blocks of numbers between locations.
