anyone willing to rent out EM axle bearing puller
Posted by: toms73novass ()

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to rent out either a bearing puller plate (I have a "real" 25 ton Dake press so it should be strong enough for the job.) , or the stand alone type puller.

Obviously I would pay for shipping, rental and a deposit.

Thanks
Tom

I would not loan the plate, as the 25 ton press can turn it into scrap metal very quickly! I'm not picking on you, Tom. Russell, who made the puller plates, had a lot of people break them in the beginning when they just put them in large presses and pushed!eye popping smiley

Using the pate with the Acme threaded rods has not resulted in any breakage.

You just missed one for sale on this forum.

If you were nearby, I would help you do them in my garage. It is CVCC property, for use by club members. Hmm, dues are no that high....

Do you know litetrix? He has a 61 wagon and Monza juniors.

Tom,
Send a message to Darrin In an older message here he says:

I have one of the pullers from Clark's. Truly an excellent tool...heavy duty and foolproof.

Not at my place right now as it moves around the club a bit. I actually bought it lightly used from another Vair guy, but it gets used.

Tom, visiting the south soon? There are at least two in NVCC and one in CVCC. It is better to see it work one time. Amazing tool. I have to make a video some day.

PM me if you are in a club with Patrick Murphy.

Taking an early axle bearing off with a typical press and bearing separator usually results in damaging the bearing. Installing the bearing is simple, just a press and pipe is needed.

Taking the early axle bearing off without doing harm to the axle or bearing is what makes the tool pay for itself. Take it off, clean, inspect, re-lube or replace innards as necessary.
