Solder seal electrical connectors

Anyone tried these? Too good to be true? You stick the wires in then heat with heat gun to melt the solder, activate the adhesive, and shrink the tubing.

Yes, worked like a charm. Got them at Autozone.

I saw a plumber installing a new deep well pump. That sure looks like how he connected the pump wire to the AC line.

I use them all the time for automotive repairs that are out in the weather. They work great. These are not the crimp and then shrink connectors. The ring is a low temp solder.

There’s a bit of a learning curve but they can be used with a heat gun, small torch, or even a lighter in a pinch. You can get them too hot too fast and burn the shrink tube before the solder melts. They are very delicate while they are hot (as the solder is melting) but they firm up quickly as they cool.

I buy them on eBay, straight oughta China. We used to get them through Wurth but they were prohibitively expensive.
