Yup... for the reports!

Funny that SDCC owns the Forum and wasn't listed in events!

15 members spent 3 hours touring the largest collection of convertibles in one place. Cars ranged in age from a 1903 Buick to a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. Other cars of note, a 1951 Nash Healey (Total production only 591 over 6 years. A Kaiser Daren, Crosley Hotshot. A large number of late 40's/ early 50's now gone automobile builders. Hard to imagine in the early 1950's there were at least 16 different car companies just in the U.S.

For me, the best part/feature of the muesum was the exhibition of other period correct appliances, radios, televisions. Many made by auto makes like Crosley, Nash Kelvinator, and other bygone names.

This was my first time at the Deer Park Winery and Auto Muesum in the 37 years I have lived in San Diego. I did not take any pictures, but others did. See the San Diego Corvair Club web site in a few days.

How old are they???

Amazing how well built those old things were. Unfortunately, they were not built to be energy efficient by today's standards.

I have a 1955 built Collins radio that is still state of the art for tube equipment and was used for the Appollo project and as recently as the first Gulf War.

Fred Johnson of the North Texas Corvair Club was one of the head Collins engineers on this R-390A radio. I was privileged to know Fred for several years in the late 1970's when we each served on the CORSA board of directors.

I do not know.
They were in my house when I bought it.

Apparently, they were bought out by Electrolux.
The name at least is still alive in South Africa.

Had one in the house we inherited. The utility company paid me $50 to let them take it away and get it off the GRID. Then also gave a rebate coupon for an energy efficient one.
