OT: What brand car is this?

Saw this mini van today and didn't recognize the logo. The logo was on the back, the wheels, and front and the steering wheel. Sort of looked like a Toyota Sienna or a Kia, but don't know. Maybe it's an out of the country version of something we have here.

nevermind. I found something. It's a kit you can buy to re-badge a Kia Sedona, or a Hyundai van. They must not be too worried about their brand, if they want to muddle with their image like that.

I think Kia was award #3 as to dependability....and not by the GM paid off J D Powers company.

r m - what proof of that accusation against JD Powers & GM can you provide?

some research companies do charge for the right to publicize their results, but how is that a "pay-off" if the studies are done correctly.
JD Powers rated KIA as 1st in "Initial Quality" during 2016 and into 2017.
Any company that publicizes their Powers results pays a fee to them. Could be KIA paying JD Powers as well, eh?

Since I am in the market for a car to replace my street vehicle (non-Vair) I dropped by my local KIA dealer (about 4 blocks away from my house) this afternoon. The KIA model I am/was considering is the KIA Stinger GT. The salesman told me that next month, they might get one in. Uh, thanks, bye.

Although I have no first-hand knowledge of Kia. Be careful and make sure you understand what "Initial Quality" means as defined by JD Powers. These rankings have a lot to do with ease of operation of the vehicle and not # of problems per 1000 cars or anything like that. Bear in mind, most Kia vehicles are very simple, low-end cars.

Somewhat similar to one of Daewoo's emblems. Are they making a comeback?

Sorry, but I have to call out this comment. You start out by saying you basically know nothing about the subject matter and then make a ridiculous claim with no support.

I was just wondering what kind of car it was based on the emblems. I usually am aware of about any car I see knowing what it is, and that emblem sparked my interest, even though it looked like a Toyota Sienna with a Kia Sedona looking front end.

As for the other comments made. Remember back in the late 60's and early 70's when Toyota, Honda and Datsun really starting showing up all over the place. My dad was a mechanic after retiring from the Army in 73 and as a teenager I remember him complaining about most of them, and hated to work on them. Look at those brands now, especially Honda and Toyota. Remember when Hyundai Accents first came out. They were crap, but have you seen a Hyundai Elantra or KIA Optima lately? I honestly thought it was a Lexus or Infiniti the first time I saw one. Even a Hyundai Santa Fe seemed to have transitioned to a more modern body style before the Japanese and American car companies followed with their version. Look at the previous generation models of a Sonata or an Optima compared to the current models (maybe 2 generations ago) They progressed from something that looked terrible to pretty nice looking stuff, in less than 10 years.

Hyundai and KIA (which I think are the same company) are here to stay. I am still not ready to buy one, but they are everywhere (except maybe Michigan).

Have you seen one of these yet out on the road. Now that's a nice car!

We have two KIAs, both turbo, great cars, I will never buy GM again. 274 HP 2L on regular 87 pump gas. The Optima always gets in the mid 30s on the open road. 10 year 100,000 drive train warranty.

10 year 100,000 drive train warranty

Same with Hyundai. I bought a 'Sport' sedan and never looked back.

Those "Reliability Ratings" are not like the old days when folks complained about fit, finish, engines and transmissions.

The NUMBER ONE owner complaint against new cars ----- the Graphical User Interface (the screens in new cars) and the complex menus just to turn on the darn radio and heater!!! I rented a Buick last year and it took me five minutes to figure out how to access the A/C controls on the screen!!!! Just ridiculous and dangerously distracting.

Remember when you just moved a lever, pushed a button, turned a knob to make things work - and you DIDN'T HAVE TO STARE AT IT to work it.
