I'm having a tough time finding a detail photo and or information exactly what it looks like inside my 63 coupes column. Whatever is going on inside the cover and behind the steering wheel isn't right.

Under your Wheel is all mechanical... A solid cable runs down the column to the switch which is near the floor. Check there first by sliding the clip that holds on to the cable...

will do...but the cover won't even screw in place. Since it appears I have to pull the steering wheel to see what isn't lining up...and the cover with the signal arm is sliding down the column...it "seems" something is wrong. Right...you told me already all adjustments were at that switch at the base of the column.

Right! Download a manual and re-assemble the housing correctly

When you remove the steering wheel DO NOT place it on the Passenger Seat.
It has huge prongs on the back for the cancelling mechanism.

I could not get my cancelling to work so I just do it manually.
Looks like a frustrated mechanic had beat and bent the cover.

But I got the turn signals to work.

Simple yet elegant mechanism.

Thanks for the advice. Helpful since the only damaged seat i have is the drivers. Wish I could find a really nice red drivers seat and not have to replace all the covers to match correctly.

Again thanks for the advice.

Clark's Corvairs will send you a fabric sample for free.

For your 1963 Coupe Driver's seat.
I am assuming bucket seats and a Monza?

They reproduce exactly each Corvair's seat pattern.

I am happy with my Clark's Bench seat upholstery. And the Door panels and the carpet. I got that front seat upholstery and had a local near my work install it and fix the padding and 2 broken springs.

My 1960 has a 1964 Monza 4 Door Interior. From Clark's.
When I got the car in 1987 the interior was thrashed and the title is Salvaged.
Proper 1960 Headliner from Clark's was installed by me a couple of years ago.
