FS - Another new item. Fuel Pump Plugs
Posted by: rlp11 ()
Date: November 03, 2017 12:53PM

Hi All

I am now making Fuel Pimp Plugs. What's new about mine you ask?

On my Fuel Pump Plug I put the O-Ring below the clamping bolt. That way there will be no seeping leaks from the bolt hole. Just use a little grease on the O-Ring and it will slide right over the bolt hole without damage. $10 ea plus shipping of $4.

Turn signal levers are coming just waiting for knobs to arrive. They seem to be in short supply.

Two O-rings might have been a nice touch IMO. Probably will sell well as is.

Roger:

If you rename the plugs as Billet Fuel Pump Delete Plugs, you could charge twice as much and they still would be a seller. Add the top o-ring at no extra charge znd it is a plug with a secondary seal, in case the lower o-ring gets nicked.

Oh, is it too early for April 1st?

In marketing, the longer the name the higher the price.

Roger:

Let me start this new product line with the first order of your new Billet Fuel Pump Delete Plug. I will take one for my Monza. Hopefully it can be shipped with my 66 turn signal lever.

Thanks for all the support you give to the Vair family.

All I can say is the 'u' key is right next to the 'i'.

I do like the name 'Billet Fuel Pump Delete Plug'.

I am still waiting on the new lever knobs. They are on back order. And I still need a picture of the 1967 and 1968-69 turn signal lever knob.

Just sent you a PM for a PPP (Pump Pimping Plug). Let me know what you need.
Thanks

Talk about serendipity. Was just complaining (to myself) about having to search for the threads showing what owners have done to plug the hole when removing the old style pumps.
Just made my day much easier.

Oh, and speaking of replacing, what is everyone doing with their fuel lines with the different carb setups? Just adding an adapter between the inlet and outlets?
Mine should be pretty straightforward with the Turbo I would think.

Maybe there is a threaded hole in the top of your plugs for just this purpose. To more easily mount your optional and soon-to-be-released billet fuel line clamp? Or better yet, a "billet brass fuel line manifold" block?
This so that the lines previously attached to the pump simply attach to the new manifold.
Voila! No new lines or adapters...

Sorry. Just enjoy talking about all the possibilities of new products. Probably much cleaner ways to route the lines now that the pump isn't in the back of the engine. But for a quick swap and back on the road, a simple adapter would be the ticket.

Thanks

Paul

Move the "T" to front of engine and reverse carb lines. Make a new engine compartment line from engine "T" forward to body fuel line. You might find some photos of it. Use Google to find photos quicker.

Geec - I've been selling fuel pump blockoff plugs for the past 15 years - I can put the O ring groove wherever you want it.
