4" Heater Hose
Posted by: JimBrandberg ()

I saw this on Ebay and was wondering if this would be good 4" heater hose for our application or if anyone has another source.

DURA-FLEX 0658-0400-0001-60 Ducting Hose, 4 In. ID, 25 ft. L, Rubber
( 381936169221 )

It's thermoplastic rubber with wire reinforcing, material is duraflex 9025 black, said to be good to 275 degrees.

The stuff I've been getting from vendor has changed and is a little stiff for my liking.

I'm answering my own question a bit but still looking for feedback.
I found a website Hi Tech - Duravent. They look more like a maunfacturer than a distributor I could buy from.
Their equivalent of what I referenced above is "Dura-flex D", looks a little too plascticky.
2PN looks a little better.
PA-EX looks better still.
SLP-10 maybe looks like the gray stuff Corvair Underground had before, I kind of liked that.

I thought Jim was commenting on the new vendor supplied hose to be too stiff already!smileys with beer

I will say, I suppose the drain tile not having a wire in it totally eliminates the danger of the heater hose contacting the starter solenoid terminal and starting a fire!thumbs up
