If it is a Y-59, it is worth more than a higher output R-59, since the R-59 has been reproduced. I was just doing some research on this, since I also have a number of NOS dry charged Delco batteries for the EM, and some cars of the 1950's

I haven't taken the out of the original boxes. I can't imagine that they will still work.

If its a dry charge it most likely will.

I do believe they are dry. Is that a different technology from dry motorcycle batteries? They don't last more than 5 years or so "dry".

I am down to my last dry one by some obscure battery manufacturer. I bought a bunch of them at Carlisle, and when one tar top died, I put in another. This last one is going on 5 years, and I am hoping to get a few more out of it. Problem is that the EM battery is produced only by 1 manufacturer, who only sells them wet, and they are about $200 (12 Month Warranty). They also sell a maintenance free battery (18 Month Warranty). Looking at the application guide, I don't believe that this is an exact replacement for the OEM Delco.

junkman, that 18 month battery listed by Deka is a standard group 51 battery available most anywhere with more than 18 month warranty.

Note, that link shows the group 53 (original equipment battery for 60 to 64) has the same terminal layout as the group 51. Known as Left Positive. There is always the question raised here "is the battery I need for an early a 51 or 51-R?" Looks like 51 makes the terminals sit slightly under the quarter panel, so it is like the original battery.

But to answer the original question, no, I do not know what a LM NOS battery is worth.

Dry means that they have no liquid electrolyte installed. You must fill them before use.
