Removing Brakelight housing

How do I remove the brake light housing on my EM Corvair? The reverse light has a connector on the socket, but the brake light doesn't. Do I have to push the grommet in from the engine compartment (marked hello in the picture)? Thanks for your help. I don't want to break anything.

Honestly, your attachment is way to big for me to see anything. Regardless, read through this, might help!

Yes, the grommet must be removed and the connector is inside the engine bay.
On the driver's side, the connector is plugged into the grommet! Passenger side has the grommet inline on the two wires and the connector is near the back-up light area inside.

On the driver's side: Unplug (pull out) the connector from the grommet.

Once the connector is out, push the grommet rubber to the middle to release it from the body. Start in one place and work your way around the grommet.

Once the grommet is released it will easily push through the hole in the body.

Thank you for the missing clue. I wasn't thinking about pulling out the connector first.
