FC window washer hyperbole
Posted by: Pedigo ()
Date: October 28, 2017 05:06PM

Can anyone explain the hype of a simple 2speed wiper/washer nozzle on FC's?

Is it 'really' that rare of an option?
Me thinks not.

Not only did deluxe models typically come with it,but both of my standard FC's are equipped with that option as well.

Marco.(The instigator of the myth)
Am I missing something?

It appears that folks that don't know otherwise, are buying into this weird falsehood and willing to pay a king's ransom based on this fiction.

Please explain,so that all of us have learned something, today.

I think that I had no more than 2 or 3 in all the picks that I did in dealers inventory. I can't say how rare they are, but usually they get pitted from the weather, and being such a small part, re plating them isn't an easy task. They were also adjustable as to where they sprayed on the windshield, which adds another dimension to the plating problem. It is the type of part that wouldn't cost a kings ransom to reproduce, however, what would be the demand from the Corvair community? Probably not enough to even consider.

The advertised washer-nozzles aren't even a correct FC part.
That's the weirdest part of the story.

OEM Washer nozzles can be found, if you are persistent. I got a great looking one for my Greenbrier Deluxe.

I'd prefer Marco explain why he is hyping this teeny-weeny nozzle as unobtanium.

Send him this direction. I'm calling him to the carpet.

People who have them are hoarding them. Simple explanation. They are pot metal and don't last long in the weather.

The only one that needs reply is Marco Padilla.
He's here or others will let him know to check-in.

Then if this a private conversation, you need to move it to a PM. I was giving my experience with finding the washer nozzle. That is the purpose of an open forum. To GAIN others experience. Live with it.

F/C Windshield Washer Squiter - Hype-Per-bolisitic

Is it rare? I dont have a count of how many were ever installed or sold or what percentage of vehicles were equiped with it. All I know is people keep telling me "wow! Thats rare! You never see those! Those are like hens teeth" When ever im at a show with sever FC's im usually thw only one that has one on their FC and people always ask me if I know where to get one.

When I came across the these units I have, i showed them to several club members who right away jumped on the first batch I was able to procure. I found a second batch and have only been selling when people reach out to me for them.

They are NOS Trico units. They are not a perfect match for what GM was installing. This is as close as I have been able to get to the original FC unit. Most just want it for

Thanks for your post,Marco.
So to be clear, they are not the actual FC washer nozzles.
A kinda could be.
I will say, however. The hype is running deep for something that actually isn't rare or hens teeth.
I've seen your nozzles. Nothing at all like the FC part.

Your marketing skills are second to none.

Thanks.. That helps to establish the value of a NOS one, not that I necessarily need a NOS one. Until I get my FC finished, I don't even need one, however, I do tend to collect parts that I will need in the future, if I come across them.

I sold an NOS one 3-4 years ago for $75.

One problem with supply is that it is VERY difficult to remove a used one without it breaking.

I just bought an aftermarket chromed plastic one from eBay to fill the hole in the front panel. I think it looks fine. No one has ever mentioned (or noticed) it in any show I have attended.
