Secret Revealed

Most of you already know this - but I'll go ahead and say it - Steve Goodman is a legend!

However, he has a secret agenda that you should know about. Shhhh don't tell anyone, but Steve really wants to help people with their Corvairs.

Big thanks to Steve for taking the time to dig out some parts, measure them, photograph them, and even send me what he was able to part with.

A great example of why I love this hobby!

Steve is indeed a 'national treasure'.

He has helped my family, even in non-Corvair issues in the past.

Great guy.

SG is also a veteran who fought in a war for our freedom. I am honored to belong to the same local Corvair club as him. Now where is the secret?

He took the time to PM me about my clutch problem and offer feedback and good information. Must have lots of good karma by now.

Between Steve and Frank DuVal, they've managed to keep me plugging along while I try to get a chance to spend some time on mine. Current plan is to drop the drivetrain back out this winter, polish up the seal surfaces, straighten the shift rod until it moves smooth again. And if I get enough time to do something to slow the rust on the body down.

There is no secret - some people have known about the skills of Steve Goodman for 40+ years.

Most people got the tongue-in-cheek nature of my comment. Of course Stsve is well known.

And I recently recalled for Steve a time when he helped my while I was passing through Colorado 32 years ago.

This is a community full of people willing to help out. Many have been doing so for most of their lives.

I've never met Steve but he was quick to help me on the phone. He was able to diagnose the problem from my description and get my turbo running better than it ever ran. Thanks Steve!

If I'm not wrong (but could be) they named the town he lives in after him!
