How about Stainless Steel directional levers?
Posted by: rlp11 ()
Date: October 21, 2017 12:23PM

I have been tasked with possibly making Stainless Steel directional levers. These will be screw in replacements, with new knobs. At half the cost of the Vendors. EM no problem but LM I am still working on flatening the end without turning the metal blue. I guess I could just pound it flat, that end does not show any way. Any suggestions?

The CORRECT 65-66 lever is NOT sold by Clark's or any other vendor. I've checked. Most vendors sell the shorter lever with less angle used on later GM cars (and Clark's does note the lever is NOT correct, except for tele wheels).

It would be great to get the correct stainless steel 65-66 lever for the non-tele 65-66 steering column. The few originals I've found are always rusted.

What would be the projected cost for a Lever? I have a problem committing without a projected cost. Since vendors don't have an apples to apples comparison, I would be taking a guess of 1/2 the cost of the vendors price of what they sell.

Cost should be :
1961-64 and 1961-63 FC - $15.00
1965-66 and 67 and 68-69 - $18.00

I need pictures of the 1967 and 1968 level knobs. I've have found some and need to know if they are correct.

Why not just sell the SS metal shaft and people can remove the original black knob and reuse it?
