Patiently waiting for "Corvair Driving Weather"!

It's STILL hot & humid here in New Orleans, high temps around 90 and humidity not all that much less.

A bad combo for driving a Corvair, with vinyl interior and no A/C.

I am oh-so-patiently waiting for some "Cold Fronts" to arrive, next month or so, when I can enjoy driving my MoreDoor and not have to peel myself off the seat.

I'm with you, had a handful of nice days then right back to sweating. I'll be working OT for the rest of the year, have a day off once a week or so, I'll miss most all the local shows this fall but will make some extra dollars.

Makes me think of the old sales pitch, from back in the day...

"Winterize your Corvair... Roll up the windows"!

It's definitely been a warm autumn in the Midwest. I had the vert out yesterday: top down, no heater, and wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Usually top down driving this time of year is with a hoodie and the heater blasting.

As they say, location, location, location! It is 38 deg F this morning and we have had a couple light snow falls recently. The cars are tucked away for the winter in my part of the world.

Things are tough all over: yesterday morning I mowed the lawn in 60+ degree sun shine and also drained and covered my evap cooler/unhooked my lawn watering hoses. I then took both the kit car car and the crown car for rides in afternoon while temps rose into mid 70's. REASON FOR THIS: temps dropped into low 30's and snowed before midnight. Still snowing fairly hard and will continue most of today and temps tonight in mid 20's.

Moral of the above: stop whining because it is too hot!!! gggg

best wishes, Steve

Yep we quite often drive more in the middle of the winter on nice days than venture out in August.

Just have to know what you are doing , just put a large beach towel over your seats and soak yourself down with a garden hose and you will be fine . and if you have a convertible you can get a little sun while your at it .cool smiley
