In that case KEP has both sides of the plate in their CNC programs already.

Steve sez: Yep just need to see if there is some
more interest out there. Making several is cheaper
than making one.

I believe the six speed (lots more $$$) bell housing pattern is the same.

KEP declined to do a Corvair to Subaru adapter. I asked. (Think Factory Five 818)

Also - The Crown style Corvair/VW Adapter will adapt the Corvair to a Hewland Mk 8 or Mk 9 transaxle.

I did an engine for the La Boa Sports Racer which had a transaxle from a 914 and mid-engine Corvair normal rotation. He had the gearing changed for more top speed, when I lifted that transaxle easily by myself I fell in love. If I remember right, it had a Kennedy adapter, VW clutch and flipped ring gear.
O/T, Bill from Dune Buggy Supply did the gearing. He was an old school guy around forever who had TONS AND TONS of VW and Porsche stuff. I wondered what happened to it when he died, rumor had it his two daughters weren't interested. The other day on the Oldies channel I heard an ad for Dune Buggy Supply in a new location which I found exciting. Bill had a young feller working for him and I hope he's involved somehow.

As far as running the trans on the coast side of the ring/pinion gears, there is a guy who put a Passat transaxle (similar to the Boxster) in a Vanagon and has logged thousands of miles with no issue. It still doesn't seem right though eye rolling smiley

A lot of work to take a gamble on whether the final drive will last being turned in the direction opposite of the original design.

5 speed and 6 speed boxster trans are different bell housings. I have a 5spd boxster trans I will sell cheap if anyone is interested, they are made by Audi, if you want a cheap V8 swap with no adapters you can bolt up the Audi v8 directly to it.

The 6spd (like I have in my v8 car) is made by getrag. I made the mistake of buying the 5spd then phoning kennedy, they don't make an adapter for that trans to an LS .. so I shelved that trans and got a 6 speed. Then I got a smoking deal on a 2015 crate LT1 and had Kennedy make me an adapter to the 6speed.. to add insult to injury the LS series engine and LT series are very different.. no not the mid 90's LT engine, the new GEN V LT that is the followup to the LS.

the 6 speed had suitable bosses for corvair suspension in the right places.

the 6 speed really isn't that much money. I paid $1500 and it has less then 10K on it. I paid $600 for my 5 speed.

The adapter, clutch and flywheel were infinitely more

One thing not mentioned so far is all these transaxles are IRS with slip joint CV flanges. Corvair uses the differential as the top link for the rear suspension. So you have to fabricate a steel tube mount to take the load off the transaxle.
