Don't worry Curt, for the most part, back surgeons today do excellent work.
My father-in-law fell off a tall storage container and broke his back in two
places among other injuries. After major surgery, he spent only 6 days in the
hospital, followed by 2 weeks at a rehab facility. Within 6 months he said he
feels better than he has in years.

Good luck and have a quick return.

P.S. Pick up an iPad or something similar. You'll be bored after a few days.

You'll do fine. They have this down to a science (pun intended!). I hate laminectomy two years ago by a neurologist and it was easy. I was home the next day feeling better than before the surgery. They got me up the next morning to walk. Used some kind of metal device instead of chipping bone from the pelvis. Super easy and now I can rust next to my Corvair.

Feel better and let us know how you are when your able.

Good luck, hope it goes smoothly and you are back in your Corvair soon. I also had a Lam job coming up on 2 years ago and recovered nicely.

Hope it goes well and you are on your feet again. I managed to ignore my doctor's desire to operate on my back, leaning the right exercises.

Just remember to be talking positively going into surgery, and tell the surgeon how important it is for you to heal quickly. All will go well with a positive attitude. Let us know how it all went once it is over.

Better than I expected after 7&1/2 hours of surgery.Back pain gone, a long recovery ahead. Doc said no Corvair for at least 6 weeks. Six months passage will allow me to sit in the car, no mechanical fun. May have to sell.Time will tell.
Pain runs 0 to 3 on scale of 10. 0 to 2 normal. Darn Physical therapy "kid" push on an excerise yesterday, I finally refused . He set me back a day or two on my pain level.
Thanks for all the prayers, They do help.

Hi Curt thanks for the update. Keep getting better, I have numerous customers who have endured some kind of back surgery and are back to driving their cars. Stay with it and good luck.
