Chips? From the material between the metal?

If so junk....

Used one are Iffy.... but can be used ... the elastomer hardens with age..changing the frequency it protects... usually ending in crankshaft breaking at the #5 journal...

No sorry the chips are out of the metal, the thin side. It is a little worrying, and they are the size of the flat part of your thumbnail, like looking down on it, im worried that its eating the belt as well. The plastic parts inside is fine and still rubbery but i might as well save up a bit and get a new one.

thanks

ok im going to get a new/rebuilt harmonic balancer or something. Anyway i got a little mig welder now and am almost done with the bodywork. Just waiting for the front apron now and once that gets on then i can get it off to the paint and body shop. Anyway im got new solid mounts for the transaxle and just need to instal them which i will do after it gets back from paint. WHile the cars at paint im going to go through the entire drivetrain and make sure everything is in tip top running shape.

Anyway thanks agian for everyones advice and i hope to be able to get some pics up and get it painted and hopefully done!!!! this is the fun part now, fabricating stuff and fixing all the stuff that you want to do but never had the right tools for, before.

Anyway i have one final question, seam sealer. whats the best kind and how do you use it? THe PO of my car put some silicone sealant on the floorpans and stuff, while this works but looks like crap and is starting to peel off.

so any recommendations of seam sealer and how to use it.

Thanks

ok im working on getting the car painted now, gonna do it myself, see what happens
Anyway, the push rod tube seals are leaking, just 2 or three of them??? I just replaced the seals.......is there something i didnt do or is there something that i can do to fix it without taking the entire engine apart??

Other than that i got the engine running right and carb tuned good enough so that you dont have to mess with it anymore and it starts fine.

THanks

AHH the old escalation of Body shop costs... smart move..... with today's paints you can "cut and Buff" to make any respray look good.

As far as the PR Tubes...

You NOT putting the INNER O-ring on until AFTER you slip it thru the hole in the head? This is the most common mistake people make..

You must've cut them... pull just the 3 leakers and try again.. 30 minute job...

As far as the paint..... Watch youtube vids and go for it!

Check out Rustoleum paint jobs....

do i have to take the head off or what?

I most likely will have to pull the engine because so little clearance between the vale covers

What do you reccommend?

??? Thought you've worked this whole engine over!

Just Valve cover.... 2 rockers nuts.... 2 rocker studs... that's all! Didn't I just say 30 minute job? gg

Look in our FAQ's under ENGINE step by step instructions

ok yes but i didnt know whether or not you have to take the head off completely so it doesnt warp it? I guess you would just loosen the one that you need to take off and then fix it and put it back on and tighten. then move on.

i have unfortunately worked this engine over, or it has worked me over anyway........

Thanks
