I like these 3V560 wrapped belts from VBeltSupply.com at $4.85 each. Last time I bought them, I bought 10 which should keep me going for a while smiling smiley. I replace the belt once a year in our UltraVan because of the wear/tear it gets from charging and because I don't feel like replacing it by the side on the road on a trip smiling smiley. They work great.

James - what other said about the CORRECT belt to use.

It's a know issue that Gates lists the WRONG belt for the Corvair in their FLAPS reference books.

I had a lapse of judgement several years ago and installed the 7/16" wide
Fan Belt.
It flipped out cruising down the Freeway on the way home from work.

I purchased some new belts recently as one shredded itself and I was unsure how old the spare was.

I ordered mine via Rock Auto but you have to search for the correct part rather than use the drop down. For me they worked well as the shipping is very reasonable to the UK. I've fitted one of them and have another as a spare.

Thanks for all the susggestions. Much appreciated.

I ordered the Gates PN 3V560 from Rock Auto (via their PN search).

In the meantime, I readjusted the current belt (Gates PN 6597) as suggested in this thread. I made it to work OK (30 miles or so down the highway). So far so good (knock on wood).

Update: I just install a Gates PN 3V560 into my Corsa and it fits great. As stated everywhere in this post, it fits deeper into the pulleys than the Gates PN 6597. And it was way easier to install.

Thanks again for the all the advice.
