Triple barrel Weber manifold adapters available
Posted by: Caveman_1960 ()

I have a pair of custom made adapters for a Corvair engine to accept triple barrel Weber carbs. These were made back in the '60's before the aftermarket guys made them available. Made of steel and probably heavier than the aluminum aftermarket bits. Is $100 for the pair too much? Located in Southeast Michigan and I can ship for a little extra $$$ or you can pick them up at the DACC Homecoming event in a few weeks. - Caveman Pete

I'm curious about that extension on the carb side on the manifold. Any idea what it is for?

My Stupid Wild Ass Guess is that these are not for Triple barrel Webers. Rather are built to use 2 two barrel webers on a 3 cylinder head. The extension on the carb plate would seem to be for blocking off the 4th barrel of a pair of weber 2 barrels.

No specific knowledge on my part. Just looks build to use that way.

I have to agree with about them being for IDA two barrel Webers used in pairs with one barrel blocked off on each side, be cool if someone had four IDA's laying about.

Actually, if someone was contemplating building an EFI motor and wanted to put the injectors in the manifold just outside of the valve, they could do worse than start here. Lop off the ends, weld in the bungs for the injectors and build a center mount for the throttle body. Kool!

You guys may be right as for the twin 2-barrel carbs rather than one triple per side. I have no idea and no use for them. Hoping that somebody can think up something to do with them. - Pete
