Good luck. Very tough to find now. I've got a couple sets, but they are with parts to build a couple more 4 spider race car diffs. You might get with David Clemens and get one of his thicker pre load spacers and use your old clutches.

Good tip, thanks! And also appropriate since these are for his brother's former car.

Absolutely! And we became good friends in the process. When is the last time that happened in a used car transaction?

Again, this is another item on the burner to get reproduced.

There is someone working on this right now.

Clarks had the reproduced for a while, but does not intend to do another run.

Perhaps whoever was making the plates for Clarks could be contacted (or already has been).

Key with these is the correct materials, heat treat, coatings, and beleville spring load. Its a controlled friction situation. Probably GM held these parameters close to the chest.

Something tells me if Clarks is passing on doing more it is an indication they are not a viable item to reproduce and make a profit. That tells me production costs were significant and sales were not. In addition, perhaps maintaining quality at a sellable retail price may have been an issue too.

Hopefully who ever decides to take the risk and reproduce them doesn't wind up coming to the same conclusion as Clarks.

They can't be easy or inexpensive to make I'd guess.

Good thing I bought a lifetime supply when you could get them from the dealership.

The person looking into the reproduction of them is a very reliable source and they would be made correctly with him behind the project. It looks like there are quite a few people looking for them since Clark's has been out of them for quite some time. So, that should help boost initial sales. Like Wagon Master, I have a pretty good hoard of NOS ones, but, they are for my use.
