These look like just what you need. $150 shipped? I was working with Dann to reproduce and we decided the tooling was going to swamp up. These were our sample parts.

That's always the problem with steel panels. The tooling costs are sky high, simply because of the labor and complexity to build them. Any part needs at least two dies to make a part from sheet steel. Being a diemaker by trade and a designer by training, I understand it all. Most people don't have a clue, and can't understand why sheet metal parts cost so much and why replacement parts are difficult to repop. It all boils down to tooling costs.

Yes, tooling costs are the same for 1 piece or 300 pieces. And that first piece is hugely expensive.

Call California Corvairs, Jeff.

I had a rusted out portion at the Brake master cylinder on my Monza Wagon and got a front clip from Jeff. Put in the section Needed and came out beautiful. Now need to finish the rest.

Worth a try

Clarks patch panel for the lower windshield works really well.

As for how long it will take, it could be days to years... just depends on how committed to getting it done they are. I am 6 years into a simple repaint of my pickup.

The repair panels from Craig arrived in good shape at the body shop last Wednesday. This Saturday I picked up a new front windshield from California Corvair and delivered it to the body shop.

Rust repair work will get started this week and should be finished by the week after. I will post repaired pictures when I see the car on 9/23

Mark, I was way to optimistic. Took some pictures today and will post later. But right side rust repair by Monza emblem and right side windshield pillar afe finished and primered. Left side I welded in but not finished yet. No real progress at all this week.
Decided to have him repaint the entire car. Rather than take it home and bring it back later. Besides, I get free storage till it is done.
Realistically, I expect it done by February and will be pleased.

Called the body shop Monday to check if there was any progress on the Monza.

Surprise!! Told rust repairs and body work was done. Just a couple more full body block sandings to do this week.

I was asked to verify the final color choice this Friday.

The Monza was originally red.

Thinking hard about using a 2018 Toyota Camry red (Ruby Flare Pearl).

Now I need to order required trim replacements and new rubber gaskets for trunk, doors, etc.

Hopefully, I will post pictures this next weekend.

That's good news! It won't be long now.

We have a Toyota that's about the same red as you are considering. While it's pretty, I rather prefer Mazda's version which is a shade darker and is their signature color for their advertising.

Turns out both of these colors are 3 part paints, not 2 part paints. So just the paint material is 50 percent more expensive that 2 part paints.

Went with the Mazda Soul Red metallic.

Also ordering new rubber mouldings and fuzziest fro Clark's on Monday. This stuff does add up, right. Any way, in for a penny, in for a Pound, right?

Still waiting for the shop to paint the car... BUT they are making some progress:

Tail pipe is a problem. Grill will not fit with the existing tail pipe. Told the shop to cut it off and put the grill on.

Found and repaired some rust in the lower rear portion of the rear right fender. Also found and repaired rust near right upper door hinge.

Rear window area needs a bit more work.

New front winshield patch welded in.

Rust in the area below the "Monza Cross" was repaired.

There are more repaired areas - but you get the idea. Progress is being made. Late last year and early this year, when I asked "When will the car get painted" the answer was "2 or 3 weeks". Last couple of times I have asked the question - the answer has been "Maybe next Wednesday"

It will all change the day after it's painted. Then they'll want it gone yesterday! grinning smiley

It really did get painted last Wednesday! Glass goes back in Monday or Tuesday. Then paint gets buffed out.

After that, all new rubber gaskets to be installed and chrome trim goes back on.

It has taken 9 months of waiting and slow progress, but this part of the project is close to finished. Maybe it will be another few weeks?

Drove to the paint shop Saturday morning to inventory all the chrome parts and pieces before they start to put it all back on the car. While there I discovered they needed some clips to hold the front and rear window trim in place. Also got a good look at the condition of some of the chrome.

Here is a poor quality picture of the 2 rear cove trim pieces. Even with the poor picture, it is clear the chrome is in sad shape.

So it was off to California Corvairs to see what Jeff might have. Jeff was able to take care of both the clips and the rear cove trim for a reasonable price.

Here is what I purchased:

Enough new clips for front and rear window trim and 2 like new, reconditioned rear cove corners. Another happy experience at California Corvair.
