After I looked at Phil's 66 Sport Sedan on Monday - Phil sent me a p.m. as soon as he spotted this car on Los Angeles Craigslist.

Just a simple link and the words "Go buy this one right now.

Listed four hours ago.

Super duper steal!!!

[losangeles.craigslist.org]"

So I did - Thanks to Phil.

It shows the true character and integrity of Phil. Instead of selling his sedan to John; Phil directed John to another deal.

Same cut on both sides. Also cut out the bottom of the windshield frame.

Question: Where to get the patches?

Know Clark has a repo of the bottom windshield frame, but did not see the patches for the upper fender area. Any leads?

There are no ready-made patches for that area. Some skillful metal massaging and welding is what is required. I did that on mine and also leaded in the finished product, just like original.

Have to go back to pick up the car this weekend.

No idea on even what size the wheels/tires are yet. Plan is to pick the car up on a two wheel car dolly and drop it off at the body shop to start the rust repairs.

The photo of the wheels is not real clear but there is a chance they could be from a Chevrolet S-10 Pick Up, maybe the Xtreme model?

Check in with Dave Motohead, or send him an PM.
I'd bet he's got used sheetmetal that will fill in those areas.
Not gonna be easy or cheap having that done at a body shop, though. Lot's of layers there.

Well, Put the 67 into the body shop last week for rust repair and removal of old bondo that is cracking. Should be done some time in September.

Now I need to find a front windshield. Anyone in Southern California have a good windshield for sale?

John,

First off let me start off by saying I'm not out to piss on your corn flakes, and I hope I'm completely wrong for your sake, but I think September is just a wee tiny bit optimistic for that amount of rust repair.

Let us know how it turns out and when its done. If it's done in September I will be the first to admit I was wrong, I hope I am. Good luck.

My project car has actually been IN the body shop since a year ago last January, and it STILL isn't in color. But it looks fantastic so far. And yes, it is nearing getting color. Once that happens, and I feel that it won't be long now, it should only take a month or so for final paint. Then when it DOES get home, I'll finally be over that mountain! grinning smiley

That said, I too am skeptical of his quoted delivery date. I'd say it may be in September of NEXT year John will get it out of the body shop.

Anyway, I wish John well! smileys with beer

No worries, if it takes longer, I am fine with that. Not having it painted till later.
