Tickets for Inland Empire Corvair raffle
Posted by: geezer43 ()
Date: July 18, 2017 09:31AM

I bought tickets, at least I think I did, and immediately I got what appears to be Spam from Pay Pal and a friend confirmed that the site shown is NOT Pay Pal. The receipt shows 4 ticket numbers instead of 5.

Could someone from Inland Empire please confirm that I do have tickets bought and paid for please? That 63 convertible would look good next to my present 63 convertible in resale red.

You should immediately check you PayPal account and see if you were scammed. If there site was hacked you could have just turned over your PP info and being fleeced. Don't wait for Inland to get back to you.

The raffle is legit but if their site was hacked you wouldn't know it till after you paid. I bought tickets awhile ago and had no problems. But the copyright on the website is 2010 making it easy for hackers to hijack since the site isn't kept up on.

Pay pal did not have enough money in it to cover tickets but site from Inland had an opening for VISA which is what I used.

I can afford to lose $20 but I would rather have the car.

As a follow on, our Pay Pal got hit for $49.95 from some Canadian Electronics firm so it looks like Inland Empire and its Pay Pal affiliation is wide open for fraud.

How will the drawing take place?

I want to enter this raffle but it all depends on how the winner will be chosen.

The more incidents of internet money scams I read about.

The more I continue to use cash and or snail mail paper checks.

I have zero on line payments of any kind and yes...old guys rule.

I received my tickets last week. I ordered some more with my registration for the Toss event.

I'm with Phil on the bill paying. Have Life lock, but still pay a lot of bills the old Wild West way!

I haven't heard a peep after buying tickets two weeks ago. Shouldn't I at least get an email confirmation?

Just did a security check for the PayPal method at Inland Empire Corvair club.
When you click thru to order their page redirects to an authentic PayPal address that asks you to sign in first.

Looks pretty secure to me!!

They should have a snail-mail address to send checks to as well, I agree.

I emailed them today to check on the status of my purchase.

Got a prompt reply. They have sold a lot of tickets and have been swamped.

If I had to guess, only a handful of people are doing the work.

Sorry for any delay in mailing these guys. I sent a bunch more out today. There is ALLOT of them. Filling out EVERY SINGLE Ticket and EVERY SINGLE envelope by hand is time consuming.

No need to panic and start filing complaints with Paypal. We are a legit club, Corsa Chapter #925 and have been since the 70's. The proceeds from the raffle are going the 40th Annual Great Western Fan Belt Toss & Swap Meet (obviously been going since the 70's).

If you have any questions, contact us.

Thank you for supporting the Corvair Community with your purchase and thank you for your patience.
