Heater holes front of the motor

Front engine shroud (bell housing side)has two holes . I don't have the lower engine shrouds. Do I need to cover these holes? Do I need to cover the heater hole on the left (right) side front top shroud as well? No plans for heat. 110 hp.

YES Cover the hole on the Top shroud!!!!!

The lower are outlets for the heater....not a problem... but to keep water / debris out... fashion a cover and use a hose clamp.

Thank you.

So the bottom two are heater outlets. What's the top one for?

Fresh / cool air to the heater to cool it down.... Engine cooling air exiting is at least 225F!!

If left open Cylinder #5 runs too hot!

the top one is the fresh air outlet it goes into the heater to mix with the hot air from the engine. it also taps the cooling air to the #5 cylinder, a frequent problem with over heating on that cylinder. you'd be better off to cover the outlet

Aluminum pie plate cut up and a 4" hose clamp, its easy, cheap and will last a long time.
