I'll try to measure the HD springs I have. I should be able to get you the wire dia. at least.

Here is a set of springs I got from a 67 Vert. They have .060 wire. All other springs I have are taller and have .054 wire.

Don't know if they are factory or what they are.

If the Corsa wasn't much different than the Monza, why would someone convert a 69 Monza into a Corsa by adding all the Corsa Trim and ID? Just wondering

Corsa=
Gauge package
chrome shifter trim
140 or turbo engine
7 Corsa emblems (4 body side, 1 glove box and 2 door panel.)
Silver painted rear cove
Lower air grill trim
Black dash appliques on 65's.
Everything else was identical to a Monza with exceptions being no turbo engine on a Monza and no Powerglide on a Corsa.
All of the performance options were available on Monza and 500 models although they were more commonly ordered on a Corsa.

Once again, if the Original Poster wanted to discuss how Corsas suck and aren't Monza's the thread would have a different title. Can we PLEASE try to stick to the topic?

Back to topic.........
you would be more inclined to find a Corsa model with HD suspension but it was available on ALL Corvair cars from 66-69.
65 is a tricky year since the package was part of option code Z17 (which also included N44 quick steering) and only on LA built cars from June through end of 1965 model year production.
IMHO, it is rarer to find a non Corsa model with HD suspension and quick steering.
I honestly do not think it was ordered by anyone that was not special ordering a performance oriented car nor do I think dealers ordered as they would more desirable things such as a radio or a transmission option.

Monza = I am out doing errands for my Wife, picking up grocery's and the dry cleaning, I will be doing dishes And vacuuming later, My wife wears the pants! drinking smiley

Well, I wasn't going to get too personal, but sometimes, the interjection of opinions that have nothing to do with the topic at hand only serve to alienate the participants and make them move on to the next forum that the opiners (whiners) haven't discovered yet.

"If the Corsa wasn't much different than the Monza, why would someone convert a 69 Monza into a Corsa by adding all the Corsa Trim and ID? Just wondering "

Why Seth? Because it's so easy! grinning smiley And because everybody loves the Corsa dash, so much so that it's been installed in countless non-Corsa cars so many times that I wish I had a dollar for every time it's happened. LOL

But seriously, when you look at what it took the factory to make the Corsa model in the first place, it really amounted to a very inexpensive, simple, and successful marketing ploy. Far simpler to do than the Monza Spyder it replaced, and with the same marketing effect. Proof of that is that it sold for $74.20 difference of worth on the sticker (a Corsa vs. an equivalent equipped Monza).

The problem is that it also created a snobbery that shouldn't exist. I did it simply to get back at that idiot who insulted my (at the time) newly purchased '67 convertible by saying that "the '67-9's are no good because they didn't make the Corsa model." angry smiley RUBBISH! And any purist who is insulted by anyone making a '69 Corsa tribute car deserves to be insulted, and just as greatly insulted as I was by that stupid remark.

See what I mean, It all has to do with IMAGE. GM was famous for image-making trim packages, like the famous SS models. They could be had with any drive train, even the base stovebolt 6, and with a powerglide no less.

In my part of the country all the IROCs had 16x8 wheels instead of the regular 15x7. I do know that 15x7s did come on some IROCs but I never saw one. The IROC also came with bigger front brakes and maybe aluminum calipers if you didn't order it with A/C.
I've also never seen an IROC that didn't have 4 wheel disks but Camaros had rear drums.
I'm NOT a Camaro guy but have known a lot of people that had them.
It's possible that some of these were options that were almost always ordered like the folding rear seat on EMs. Out of the several hundred EMs I've seen and owned I don't think I've ever seen one without it. (I know FCs and convertibles don't have them)
Now that I think about it I do have a '62 700 that I haven't looked to see if it has the folding seat...

Our 68 Camaro SS came with 4 wheel manual brakes but with the 350 PG. Bad setup for the power. Going to 4 wheel powered discs starting later this week. All so Donna can drive her classic safely.

The Iroc Z was a separate option package on top of the Z28 from 85-87.
From 88-90 Chevrolet dropped the base Z28 and ALL came with the Iroc Z package but the 16" rims were no longer standard.
The front brakes were the same on the Iroc as all other 82-92 F bodies (10.5" disc with single piston calipers). The only 3rd gen F bodies with different front brakes were the rare 1LE package and 89 Turbo Trans Am models which used a 12" rotor with aluminum dual piston PBR calipers).
Rear disc brakes on the 82-92 Camaros were option J65 and were not included with the Z28 or Iroc Z package.
