Thinking of doing a complete makeover for my Corsa:

1. Quick Steering Arms
2. Replace gauges with modern digital with oil temp and pressure, voltage and clock, plus working speedo, tach and odometer
3. Electrical ignition
4. Fuel injection
5. front disk brakes
6. New bucket seats in front
7. All rust repaired (minor) and car painted.
8. Add a/c??

Budget is 5-7.5k

Don't forget the VHT. There is a nice 2" that has two needles so you can put a sensor in both heads.

The rest of your list looks like great stuff. Can't wait to see pictures.

You may need to pick and choose with the proposed budget. Also depends on how much work you are doing and what is being done by others. I just sold a nice 66 Corsa with Clarks A/C done by a professional shop which was pushing $3600.
Dash conversion using Seth mounting hardware and Digital/ Analog gauges could easily push a grand depending on gauge selection and senders. Disc brakes depends on what set up and master cylinder. So really depends on your level of mechanical experience and selection of products. Good luck and send pics as you progress.

where you are is going to be a big factor.

around here.........so cal.....a good paint job is $5 - $7K. thats paint only - no body work or rust repair.

I have talked with this guy a few times and he seems OK. Does both body work and mechanical. He's on this forum sometimes but usually hangs out over on Corvairforum.

I agree your budget seems pretty low for all that if you are paying someone to do the work. Probably looking at 4x that or more.

I am located in South Florida.

Paint and body can be excluded (I have a client who has a body shop, would likely charge me $2500 if I prepped car.

So 5-6k for the rest....

I can live with working analog gauges as well, plus a set of analog extra gauges.

Figure used S-10 disc calipers, new master cylinder (I only have a single anyway)

That is an ambitious list for the budget, but you might be able to do it if you are real careful and take your time.

To put it in perspective, I have a similar plan of making a great driver 65 Corsa 140.

My plan-

1. Seth Dizzy (electronic ignition)
2. suspension rebuild
3. full interior recover (including sound deadening material)
4. Roger Parent's throttle linkage
5. wheels/tires
6. a good polishing
7. Quick steering box
8. front disk brakes (maybe) but at least a dual master cylinder conversion

I think I will be ending up very close to your budget and my list doesn't include a paint job, EFI, or A/C.

I laid this out carefully and really priced everything out. I would encourage you to do the same. Just make a list of what you want to do and then put the PARTS price next to it. this will start to set a expectation and allow you to pick what you are doing and when. Doing it all at once is a quick path to a half finished car and being out of money. One thing at a time.
