Well got a lot done today, even special because the suspension went in!

Had to do this!

I was able to borrow one of my club members em bearing puller and took full advantage of it.

Boy my back is sore.....

Some of the bearings slowly slid off, others were more resistant and popping as they were pulled.

One of the next projects is to disassemble all the bearings, clean them up and see what I have to work with.

Tom,

Guess you had a few spares to do that with as well.

So the puller worked well?

Now let us know how it works as an installer!

Yes Gary, worked well, just a bit of effort with the wrench. If it was mine I would have made a custom 1.25 wrench with a 3 foot handle to make the job easier.
Since it was yours I was not going to take any chances. grinning smiley

The Vise is a MUST or you could create a mounting plate and use the 2 unused tapped holes to mount it to something on the floor.

I think I am going to use my hydraulic press and a pipe to press the bearings on, much easier.

Thanks again for the tool loan! thumbs up

After taking all the bearings apart and cleaning them, out of 8 axles, there are only 4 bearings that are in good shape.

I blasted all the outer parts and will totally re grease with the proper lube when it arrives on tues. and then put them back together.

Before I grease them I will mate them up with proper shims in the housings with 3 thou clearance. As you can see I have all the shims measured and ready to go.

Bearings all set and was a piece of cake to press on with a pipe over the shaft just large enough to set on the inner race.

All installed:

Also front steering components and box installed:

My latest update, did a little custom work.

I have a laser cutter that i picked up from an insurance salvage company and it is able to cut out vinyl and thin plastic and wood.

I made these from a sketch that I made from the original emblem and then I digitized it.

Cut out of vinyl and placed on plastic disk. Coated with "Art Resin" epoxy that is not suppose to yellow.

The center hubs I made on a 3d printer I also got from the same salvage place.

Sanded an painted them with the same paint as the wheel center (different light angle makes it look different shade but it is not)

Think it turned out presentable:
