WTB: EM SHORT Arm Rests

Anybody know where (or if) one can find early, short chrome arm rests? Aprox 9 1/2" long, 8" arm pad, 5 1/4" apart door screw holes. Clark does not have them. Like the attached photo, only chrome. I'm wanting to match chrome ones we put in back, but really don't want the long ones that Clark has for front.

Those were only for the wagons, I think. I ended up getting mine from Corvair Ranch and painting the color I wanted for our Lakewood. Was lucky enough to get a set for the back doors from a previous owner of it.

I am thinking I may have 1 front one left, but part of the plastic is broken. Will try to track it down for you.

I'll look thru my stash, I might still have a couple of them. I'll get back to you later today.

JGreen - See pics below. Decent shape. For the chrome look, check out Eastwood Paints. They offer a 'chrome' paint in rattle cans.

FWIW, I've never seen Chrome arm rests in that style. Do they really exist?

Send them out to be vacuum metalized. It a poweder aluminum. Kind of like powder coating for plastic. They are then clear coated. This is how all the "chromed" platic parts were mostly done. Particularly the arm rest bases. There was/is another process for actually chroming plastic that was used for those "high wear" items like the radio knobs starting in '68 model year on most of the other GM models.

I hadn't thought about painting them. I don't know how well that would hold up.

From what I am finding, no they were never made. So, I am either getting long chrome ones or seeing how painting goes.

Since armrests of various colors were optional for 500 series and standard for most 700 series Corvairs, chrome plated armrests were only available for Monza models as far as know.
