I would think you could eliminate buying used tie rods, sleeves and shocks by buying new from our vendors. That would eliminate a small amount of weight of the whole package of parts you need.

Doesn't matter who gets the credit for the pic, as long as it helps the cause.
Like Lane66m wrote, buy new tie rods/sleeves, ball joints, all bushings (including
the pitman arm bushing), wheel bearings, shocks, idler arm and brake assemblies.
That leaves the used parts: sway bar/attaching parts, L&R struts/attaching parts,
L&R steering arms/attaching parts and wheel backing plates.

And the L& R spindles as used parts.

Per the photo of the donor assy, it appears to have at least the LH spindle.
Assuming the RH is also there and they're serviceable would fill that need.
Brings up another question for SteveH: will you be transferring the wheel hub
and brake drum from the existing assy on the car or do you need those items in
addition for your new build also?

Unfortunately I live under the "protection" of an HOA that does not allow working on your car in "public view" My 1 car Garage is my shop and will never see a car....

The only way I can do most of the work I do is like in this case I will completely rebuild the front assembly, then take it and the corvair along with drop cloths and tarps to the local college parking lot and do the swap. It REALLY need to be as close to 100% as it can be before I get there. The local security has been very cool with me doing this because as they said "you keep it cleaner than a boy scout"

anyway.....

Yes, both spindles are there and in good shape.

My mistake. I should have gone back and look at the original photo to confirm the parts.

Do you have any friends in the country who might be willing to help you swap out the assembly? Most country folks have an abundance of tools and space to do work like this.

Lane - Yeah, Getting TO the country here while not being able to drive the car at above 45 makes that a challenge in the SF Bay area.

I am always looking and asking at the club meetings, so far no joy.

Right now I am trying to stay focused on getting all the right bits, then the rebuild.

I REALLY appreciate all of the ideas and suggestion!! Thank you ALL

Ok, Looks like with the help of Chris Rogers and Steve Morton I have all of the bits I need!!! Woo hoo!

The parts are in good enough condition that I am tempted to just put this setup in the car to get me back on the road and then rebuild the removed unit... Or just do things right the first time like I should probably do...

Any recommendations on a low cost but decent quality "rebuild kit" I see them for about $200 on fleabay, but not sure i can trust those folks. I was not able to find complete "kits" available on either Clark's or California Corvair

I am on the left coast BTW
